How to install an older version of sonar lint. The latest version 8.1 is not compatible with my version of node which I can not updated

By SonarLint, do you mean the Sonarlint IDE plugin? Previous versions can be downloaded from https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/7973-sonarlint/versions. Please note that downgrading the plugin would likely require downgrading the IDE itself, as previous plugin versions won't work with recent WebStorm release.
