Why disable right click action in much of UI?
I've been wondering my JB have disabled the ability to right click in much of the UI?
Just an example...
Find in path... right click in any of the text fields doesn't work
Version control... if I am submitting a message for my commit I can not right click in there either (for example if I make a spelling mistake, I can't right click it like I could in the editor to get the correct spelling suggestions)
The above are just two examples, but it appears to be like this throughout the IDE apart from sections like the editing window, project window etc...

Different modules (VCS, Find in path) have their own reasons to disable context menu there, unfortunately not all of them are described/explained on our tracker.
The only one I've found is this one: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-166365.
If there are real Usability problems with this I would suggest to submit similar reports or vote/comment existing ones (if found).
Thanks for the response.
I mean I realize there may not be a need for options in a context menu, but it would help a lot if it just had the default stuff like copy/cut/paste etc...... every time I want to copy something I have to move my hand from my mouse and use ctrl+c instead; not a major issue, just a little annoying.
Also, just a FYI, your link is broken, seems the period at the end caused it as it got url-encoded and appended to the link :)
Yeah, right, the dot made it into a link :)

Some prefer this the other way: to not use the mouse at all there. You can vote for this issue or leave a comment describing your workflow/use case to be heard by our developers.
Well it depends where you have your hand at the current time haha........ if it's on the mouse then right click is helpful, if it's on the KB then ctrl+c is obviously superior. :)
I already voted for the issue you linked to, but I guess that only covers the VCS and not everything else; I may get around to creating a separate issue if you think it's worthwhile.
Well yeah, it's better to create an issue for every major element you're missing context menu in.
