I need the help of the  smart  ones in the community!

Whenever I am running my JAVAFX code. btw Java works fine. I can print out a line. The problem is that when I have a program that is using JavaFX. It won't bring out the box! I get this.

"C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\bin\java" -Didea.launcher.port=7532 "-Didea.launcher.bin.path=C:\Program Files (x86)\JetBrains\IntelliJ IDEA 2016.3.3\bin" -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -classpath "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\charsets.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\deploy.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\access-bridge-64.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\cldrdata.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\dnsns.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\jaccess.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\jfxrt.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\localedata.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\nashorn.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\sunec.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\sunjce_provider.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\sunmscapi.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\sunpkcs11.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\ext\zipfs.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\javaws.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\jce.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\jfr.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\jfxswt.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\jsse.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\management-agent.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\plugin.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\resources.jar;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_121\jre\lib\rt.jar;C:\Users\Ash\Desktop\CSC 201\ProgrammingExercise7twoJAVAFX\out\production\ProgrammingExercise7twoJAVAFX;C:\Program Files (x86)\JetBrains\IntelliJ IDEA 2016.3.3\lib\idea_rt.jar" com.intellij.rt.execution.application.AppMain sample.Main

Tried these things : I have reset my laptop, redownloaded the lastest version of java and IntellJ. Not only that but I also downgraded to older stable versions.(Still nothing)

these too: I am also getting registry errors most of them have to do with IntelliJ and Java.  I have cleaned out my registry using CCleaner and Advanced System Care Pro.

I have no idea what is going on. It was working fine before and now all of the sudden when I have a lot of work to do. It's crapping out on me.

Side note: I have also rolled back to the previous windows 10 update to see if that fixes it and still nothing.

I use Bitdefender and Malware Bytes as my antivirus. I don't know if there is something wrong in the firewall.

There is another recent post with this problem and, luckily, a solution. Nvidia recently updated their driver. I updated the one for my Geforce 840M yesterday and was getting this error. The new version was 378.49 and now I have switched back to 376.33 (by downloading the older driver from nvidia) my Java programs run normally.

I am new to the forums and not sure how to link, but here is the full URL of that other post:

Good luck with your homework :)

I have a laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M and I was having the same problem.

I went to Device Manager -> Display adapters -> NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M (Right Click) -> Properties -> Driver tab -> Roll Back Driver.

I am now back to version 376.33 and JavaFx is working once again. Thank you very much for your help. I was going crazy with this. No idea how you figured it out.

Thanks for the help Kevin. It seems to working just fine after the roll back.

No problem. All credit should go to ram64 who figured out it was the driver - I've no idea how he came to that conclusion, I just passed on the fix after I confirmed it worked for me too. I don't know if this is a general Java / Nvidia problem or if it only is IntelliJ and Nvidia.

Edit: credited ram64 who gave the fix rather than the OP of the other thread.

When I checked my registry and scanned for errors most of the error was due to missing values in the Java files and IntelliJ files. Maybe the new NVidia update doesn't properly install the new because from the looks of it the installation was probably unstable. I am not sure tho
