IDEA Python Plugin not recognizing async/await keywords

i'm using IDEA 15.0.6 with Python Plugin 5.0.2.143.121. My project SDK is configured to python 3.6. However, it is not recognizing the async/await and related keywords in the language. Library autocompletion finds my python3.6 env, so I'm confident the SDK is configured correctly. |
Has anyone encountered this or know how to fix it?
