Github vcs not found

I have the github plugin installed and my connection to the server works but when i go to version control i cant select gitub as the vcs, it just does not show github in the list of options

GitHub is not a separate VCS. It is actually a public hosting of repositories.
The VCS it uses is GIT.
Please make sure the Git integration plugin is enabled, and you should see the Git in the list of available VCS
