CLION static analysis tool

What static analysis tool does CLION use under the hood? I installed CppCheck plugin and Clion seems to be generating code inspection in addition to CppCheck's output. Can this Clion tool be used independently? Perhaps through a command line? Also on CLION 2016.3.3, I see code inspection freezing frequently before completing inspection. Finally it seems that online squiggly errors like "Field 'xyz' is never used" only appear on the file itself but not in a complete project code inspection. 

Lots of stability issues.
