How to change terminal's font (letter-spacing)?

I can't change font letter-spacing in terminal window. I had tried to change settings: editor->color & fonts ->console font - no result. How can I do it?

Are you on 2017.1.4 or 2017.2?

Could you please attach a screenshot of your File | Settings | Editor | Color Scheme | Console Font?

Verdana is a custom font afaik. You've already tried changing it to e.g. Courier New?

Switched font (attach 1) - see the same thing (attach 2)

There is an issue with non-monospaced fonts: Please vote for it to get the updates regarding the status changes.

Once you change font to Courier New or other monospaced font, it is necessary to close all Terminal tabs before opening a new session to see the change effect.

Thanks, it's clear now. Set monospace font. Looks good.

I'm having some trouble after installing phpStorm 2017.2. Working on a project requires elevated permissions, since the script I'm working on can only be run as admin. This worked like a charm in 2017.1. But now I have two issues:

  • Rewollof's screenshot shows a Preferences menu option that I'm looking for. As in my screenshot above, I can't find a way to change the "Console font" from ugly Courier (the default Monospace font on Windows). I was able to change the terminal font in 2017.1.
How can I change the terminal font in 2017.2?
  • Clicking the Fonts menu item causes my phpStorm to run out of memory. My rig has 32 GB RAM, and I already raised the XMX settings from 725 to 1024 and then again to 2048 MB.

Why are the font settings for the console located in the Color Scheme section?

Every time I want to change the font size for the console, I search for the answer to the question of where to find this setting on StackOverflow, because there is no logic in where it is currently located in the interface.
