Inspection custom selection not working
In the "specify inspection scope" dialog, I'm pretty certain that previously if I selected the "custom scope" radio, and then "selection" from the dropdown, it would only run the inspection on the selected/highlighted code. However, when I do this now in 2017.2 it runs the inspection on the entire file.
Is this recently broken, or does it actually do something else?

Is there really a "Selection" entry?
Yes, hence my question. It's been there for years, and is very useful.
It's still there: checked in 2017.1.4 and 2017.2.1 (running on Windows 10 using bundled JDK) -- checks done against .php file
No, I'm referring to "selection" not "selected file".
This is for the highlighted text. The choice exists, but is broken. I cover all this in my original post. Regardless, it's been verified as a bug in the jetbrains issue tracker and is will be fixed in the release later this year.
