appcode ui locks frequently during swift editing

I'm experiencing frequent UI lockups while editing Swift in a large project that contains both Obj-C and Swift 3. Seems to be related to autocompletion hanging but i'm surprised this is blocking the main thread. This problem affects AppCode 2017.2 and 2017.2.1 EAP. This is occurring on MacOS Sierra 10.12.4. The only non default plugin that i have running is IdeaVim.
I can repro the issue easily at least once every 2 to 3 minutes with a hang time which averages around 5 seconds but which can be as long as 20 seconds.
This also happens about 1 in 2 times the AppCode window is focused and moves to the foreground.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi Bobby,
Please report the issue in our tracker, attach zipped contents of logs folder (Help | Show Log in Finder) after reproducing the problem and, additionally, capture several thread dumps while reproducing the issue. That will help us in investigation.
Already created an issue for 2017.2.2 EAP, it's more pronounced there and locks the main thread unrecoverably.
