PhpStorm : menu "Deployment" missing for some projects

Hello

I used to have menu "Deployment"  when click-writing on a file (one month ago)

this menu has disappeared  for some projects (but not all) and I don't why

for all projects I do have  "Remote Hosts Access" plugin enabled

for the projects where this menu is missing I can use at least  "Upload to..." and "Sync with Deployed to..." menus both prompting for the server to upload

I notice also that i cannot download from the server nor merge with the corresponding file on the server

those projects have been built from existing sources downloaded with sftp

 

I created quickly a test project from existing sources from the same server and the "Deployment" menu appears !

so I could create again the projects having this menu missing but it will be time consuming as i have several scopes to build

and I'd like to understand why i lose this menu

 

I had version 2017.1.4 and upgraded to 2017.2.1 with no change...

Hi there,

So far it sounds like you do not have a default deployment entry defined for this project ... or it's not fully configured (check all tabs).

effectively there was no default deployment entry

by the way after having being using Phpstorm for 1 year and a half I just realized that :

  • the 1st entry is the deployment server associated with the current project
  • and this entry must be "tagged" as default 

may be because the entry marked as default is not well visible ; I think that this entry should be more highlighted

 

another point is the "lost" of this default entry ; I don't know the reason
