Accidentally moving IDE parts instead of marking code

Answered

Hey,

it happens to me repeatedly that I am wanting to select code with my mouse but the IDE is "selecting" the tab and I am then moving this instead. This is horribly annoying and happens on Linux(Arch Linux, Budgie Desktop) as well as on macOS 10.12.6.

The same is happening in IntelliJ IDEA and it's driving me crazy. So often I simply want to select code parts and I'm instead moving a tab somewhere I don't want to.

Is this a known issue or some feature I don't know of(and wouldn't understand)? I was searching but didn't find anything, maybe I used the wrong words.

Kind regards,

Marcel

Hello Marcel,

Could you please record a small screencast that shows the issue? Thank you.

Hello Anna,

I'll see if I'll find a situation where I can reproduce the issue and will then do a screencast. May take some days, though. I'll also check if none of the additional tools I've installed(BetterTouchTool, Karabiner) are interfering in some way with my input.

Hello again Anna,

it was indeed an issue with BetterTouchTool!

Yesterday an update popped up and the latest version fixed it:

BetterTouchTool 2.297
- Fixes dragging issue with various IntellJ based IDEs (Webstorm, PyCharm, Android Studio etc.)

So everything's fine on your side. Thanks for the help.
