main tool bar doesn't update after editing contents

I'd like to add buttons to the main toolbar (# 2 from here)

I tried changing this by using the "Customize Menus and Toolbars" option available by right clicking the tool bar.

I modified the list as indicated below however the toolbar did not update.

Edit: never mind, i'm dumb and i should feel dumb. i have to push it using the VCS menu first.
