When do you expect to support wireless debugging in AppCode?

Answered

One of the most convenient and prominent new Xcode 9 features isn't usable right now in AppCode:

Wireless Debugging.

When do you expect to support wireless debugging in AppCode? Is it hard or even possible? Is there some sort of complicate encryption / handshake negotiation at work which you can't emulate? Are you even allowed to, or will that feature stay Xcode exclusive?

Hi Jan.

Our plan is to support the feature in AppCode 2017.3. Hopefully, we'll have time for that. Please watch OC-16104 to get updates.

Hey guys! Any news about it? I just downloaded the last version of AEP which is:

AppCode 2017.3 EAP
Build #OC-173.3622.15, built on November 8, 2017
AppCode EAP User
Expiration date: December 8, 2017
JRE: 1.8.0_152-release-1024-b6 x86_64
JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o
Mac OS X 10.13.1

But still I cannot run through wireless. Any clue?

Hi.

OC-16104 is in development at the moment, so not available in any public EAP yet.

Hi!

In AppCode 2018.1, this was announced. I cannot find any documentation on that topic, let alone get it to work.... but I would certainly need it.

Hi Konrad,

Wireless debugging in AppCode mirrors Xcode's functionality. So, it should be possible to refer to Xcode documentation on how to setup wireless debugging in general. Note that device needs to be connected using Xcode (Window -> Devices and Simulators -> Connect via network) first since we have no UI for that in AppCode atm.

Should you need more info, please feel free to contact our support: appcode-support@jetbrains.com. We'll be happy to help.

Ah.... yes, just saw it. AppCode needed a restart probably. Thank you!
