Is there a option or a plug-in that will enable a pop-up with type information?

There is one feature from Eclipse that I miss.  When hovering over a variable or macro a pop-up would appear showing the variable type or the macro expansion.  Is there an option that will enable this feature or maybe a plug-in that I can install to get it?
