CLion 2023.1.5 indexing tests is taking forever

CLion is taking forever to index tests.

CLion 2023.1.5
Build #CL-231.9225.21, built on July 17, 2023

I updated CLion a few days ago but this issue has just started today, as far as I recall.

I'm running it in VMware with Ubuntu 22 Jammy. The VM is configured to use 4 processors with 2 cores each, 32 GB RAM.

I use Catch2 for my tests.

Running htop shows dozens of CLion related processes, but nearly all of them show 0.0 CUP%. One processor core completely maxed out. Two of the CLion related processes show 100 CPU%.

Any ideas how to fix this?

CLion 2023.2 is the same.

Happens to me on CLion 2023.2.

Also, the freeze is indefinite (I once left it for hours and it stayed the same). It soon stops consuming CPU, but the only way to kill the IDE from that point is to pkill java.

Is there a way to at least temporarily disable indexing tests? It's practically impossible to use the IDE at the moment.

Hi all!

Sorry for the inconvenience.

It might be related to the following regression - CPP-34490. We are working on it right now. Please comment or upvote the issue in order to get updates. See if you are not familiar with YouTrack.

Does it help if you close the Structure tool window?
