Split Settings
Hello everybody,
First things first, 2023 UI is just AMAZING!
In general, I'm in favour of Jetbrains approach having most of the settings in one place. However, this (as every possible approach) has its own drawbacks. There have been times where I'm looking for a potential feature, option or setting which I'm not exactly sure how to phrase it and my best chance is to google instead of directly searching.
A good example would be to change markdown rendering font. I didn't know if this option even existed or if it's a plugin etc. I initially assumed that if there is an option, then it would be something like a dropdown with fonts, so I skipped the CSS option due to tunnel vision, until I got the answer from google.
Anyway, what I would like to suggest is the following:
Preferences can stay as are, but a right click "settings..." option to every UI component could be very helpful as it enhances user experience by having all potential of that component in a single place. I had this exact problem when I accidentally enabled the (super annoying) "Make configurations pinned by default", which makes much more sense to be an option when you right click on a tab instead of being deep in the advanced settings.
Thanks!

Hi Vasilis - thanks for taking the time to describe the suggestion.
I submitted a new feature request for it: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-327006
