Local History only shows entries from --Last 12 Hours--- even though I did not invalidate cache, this happens whenever I restart the program

What is the Duration of storing changes in Local History value in Settings | Advanced Settings?

Can it be infinite or will that increase disk usage?
You may increase the duration in options. I am not aware of limitations. However, local history is lost each major update.
Regarding losing the history on restart, please do Invalidate caches with option Clear file system cache and Local history enabled and check does this issue occur still on restart.
