Have you installed the correct package from the official website: https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download?

Could you please share your IDE logs folder and any java_error_in*.log files located in your user home directory? Also, please try to run IntelliJ from the command line and provide the console output. You can zip and upload all the files here: https://uploads.jetbrains.com, just provide the uploaded file ID. Thanks!

Could you share your IDE logs folder? Also, please try to run IntelliJ from the command line and provide the console output. You can zip and upload the files/folders here: https://uploads.jetbrains.com , just provide the uploaded file ID. Thanks!

Hi Bishoptate01
Thanks for the crash dump. Unfortunately, this one crash dump provides little useful information.
Could you please upload your entire IDE logs directory and the console output from running the IDE from command line?
This additional information will help us to analyze the issue further. Thanks!

Hi Ivan Pajic

i disable the DEP of the idea yesterday
tried so far no sign of crash

and I'm currently trying this method and will upload when I find it crashes

Bishoptate01

Thank you for the additional information.

i disable the DEP of the idea yesterday

What does DEP stand for?

i got crash again

Did you maybe notice which operation you performed in the IDE when the crash happened?
Could you try to temporarily disable all downloaded/non-bundled plugins and run IntelliJ as administrator?

Also, please share/upload your idea.log file. It is located in the IDE logs directory.

Ivan Pajic

What does DEP stand for?

DEP is Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a technology built into Windows that helps protect you from executable code launching from places it's not supposed to. DEP does that by marking some areas of your PC's memory as being for data only, no executable code or apps will be allowed to run from those areas of memory.

Did you maybe notice which operation you performed in the IDE when the crash happened?

modify project source code

Could you try to temporarily disable all downloaded/non-bundled plugins and run IntelliJ as administrator?

my idea has not downloaded any plugin and tried run IntelliJ as administrator

Thank you for the detailed explanation.

Is it possible to share your IDE logs (Help > Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data)? Along with the idea.log file there are other crash dump files that could help us to analyze the crash issue further.  You can upload them here: https://uploads.jetbrains.com. It will be accessible only to JetBrains team members. Thanks!

Ivan Pajic

specifically those files?

Yes, it would be best if you could share the zip file via Help > Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data and then upload the exported zip file here: https://uploads.jetbrains.com, just provide the uploaded file ID.
