What happened to Git local changes?

Answered

The Git panel used to have a Local Changes or some such tab, where I could see a list of changed, added, and deleted files. I think it was there earlier today, or for sure in the last couple days. Now I can't find it, or find a good way to get an equivalent view.

Suggestions please!  Thanks!

In 2023.3, non-modal became default to everyone. You may switch back to old modal window in Preferences | Version Control | Commit by disabling non-modal window.
The commit icon should be located on your left toolbar, are you unable to see it?

Additionally, you may still use modality and have old tool window (partially) by having Enabled non-modal commit + in Settings | Advanced Settings and disable Enable Commit tool window

I had same problem and solving with Dino's recommendation.

I think 2020.1 version had same issue and solved with same way: https://stackoverflow.com/a/62335110/23064119

Dino Letic , disabling non-modal worked. Thanks! I never would have known to look there.

The commit icon is the second from the top, it took me a while to see it too.
