Where 'Create Gist' did go ?

I was using ‘create gist’ section from right click to any project frequently. After the update i can't find that tool from anywhere. I don't want to copy and paste my code to create a gist. It was so useful for me. Why did they remove it ?

Hi, the functionality should still be there: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/pycharm/share-code-with-gists.html#3448f59d

Could you please show a screenshot of the missing option and provide logs from **Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data**?

You can use uploading service at https://uploads.jetbrains.com/ , and provide upload ID in your reply.

I just noticed the same thing. "Create Gist…" used to be at the bottom of the list when I right-clicked on a tab regardless of the project. Now it seems that the option is only available in projects that are associated with a GitHub repo. For example:

[project linked to GitHub repo]

Close
Close Other Tabs
Close All Tabs

External Tools
Rename File…
Create Gist…

[stand-alone local project]

Close
Close Other Tabs
Close All Tabs

External Tools
Rename File…

My GitHub account is registered as the “default” in Version Control > GitHub.

The 'Create Gist' option might have been relocated after the update. Check under 'VCS' or 'Plugins' settings.

It's really annoying to lose features we already have in each new update.

I'd like to know why they removed it. Like, what was their reasoning?

CEO at some meeting: “Let's remove the ‘create gist’ button”.

Everyone else: “Yes that's a great idea! Everyone will like that!”

Seriously.
