Pycharm crashing with OOM

Hi all.

I am using Pycharm 2023.3.2 on a computer running Fedora 39.

Since a couple of days, my IDE keeps crashing after about an hour of work. While everything works perfectly, suddenly the memory used by Pycharm increases and reaches the maximum RAM of the computer (64GB !!!). The computer gets then stuck and I have no other solution than reboot…

The only times I don't need to reboot is when I see the memory increasing and close Pycharm before reaching the max memory.

Last days, the only way I have to code is to use VSCode…

Could you please help me on this?

Hi, sounds like a memory leak indeed. Could you please submit an issue to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com and attach:

- logs from **Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data**
- Memory snapshot according to https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/207241235-Reporting-performance-problems

For the memory snapshot, please monitor your memory usage and take the snapshot when you notice it starts rising. There's no need to wait until it grows to 64 GB, which would be a nightmare to download.

For large files, you can share them at https://uploads.jetbrains.com and provide the upload ID.
