Dataspell & pycharm in the same directory

Pycharm (& other ides) store their files in the .idea directory.   I've found that trying to use multiple tools with the same project directory works badly, because the tools conflict with their control of the .idea directory.

Does dataspell work the same way.  I have a project that I'm mainly using pycharm but I also want to do some juypter with dataspell.  Should I be careful to avoid having the project directories be the same?

Thanks,  Beth
