PyCharm on M1 MacOS is using 700% CPU.

Completed

Any advice, when PyCharm on M1 Mac, is using 700% CPU and GUI/IDE is not usable and have to force-kill the app.

it event happens when I open a project with 1 or 2 simple Python files.

I disabled all Plugins (and not installed any 3-party plugins)

Any advice?

Thanks, have a nice day.

Hi Genia !

Please open an issue on our issue tracker using the link https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/PY

We would need corresponding CPU snapshots following this article along with the logs folder zipped from Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data. Please upload it to https://uploads.services.jetbrains.com and let us know the upload ID.

same here. CPU usage goes up to about 700% just after opening one project - other projects are fine. Upload id: 2024_11_23_HvqCaVFevrgiPPyesqcLcu (file: PY-243.21565.199_kleinen_23.11.2024_11.25.55.zip)

Pilip4yk Ilya , delete old data, these issues require thorough investigation, please create an issue on YouTrack using this link https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/PY, attach all relevant information for quicker resolution (actual logs from Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data, CPU snapshot as per article above).

As a general troubleshooting step, please try to disable all non-bundled plugins (File | Settings | Plugins | ⚙ | Disable all downloaded plugins) and check if the issue would persist afterwards.
