It's unfortunately not possible to redirect Run console output to a file. If you miss this feature, please feel free to file a request for it to youtrack, https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issues/WEB. A workaround could be implemented using wrapper application which will redirect stdout and stderr to files and then run the main method of your application.

But in the link https://www.jetbrains.com/help/webstorm/2016.2/export-test-results.html  it is said that results can be exported to HTML or XML. I have searched for the option EXPORT TEST RESULTS in RUN tool window, it is not available. I am using licensed version of Webstorm 2016.2 version

This option is there, but, as it's written in Help, it's only available from Test runner console (i.e. you can only use it for exporting unit tests results):

Please read my message once more: "as it's written in Help, it's only available from Test runner console (i.e. you can only use it for exporting unit tests results)". So, this option is available for unit tests (Mocha, etc.), but not for Node.js run console

Thanks for your message. Can you guide me on how to implement a wrapper application which will redirect stdout and stderr to files and then run the main method of your application, as you have suggested earlier.
