Editing/Writting pl/sql extremley slow. After every few characters typed a freeze of three seconds occurs.

The package is very small. Less than 100 rows. The size of sql file has no relation to freezing. On the other hand there is no problem with other files (non SQL/database related).

DDL definition is neither really big.

Hello Ivan,

What IDEA version do you use? Do you see the problem only with this specific sql file or with any sql files? Could you please take CPU snapshots, at the moment of reproducing the issue and upload them to our ftp with zipped log directory for the investigation? If it is possible to have sql file, which causes the issue it would be really helpful. Thank you in advance!

Hello,

Idea version:
IntelliJ IDEA 2016.2.4
Build #IU-162.2032.8, built on September 9, 2016
Licensed to Epilog d.o.o. / Ivan Mlinaric
Subscription is active until April 10, 2017
JRE: 1.8.0_112-release-b343 x86_64
JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o

The problem is with any sql file that I have tried.

Looks like exception is being thrown often. The operation is not CPU extensive as it seems does not consume much CPU while hanging.

This is the snapshot file: IU-162.2032.8_eye1_26.09.2016_16.16.24.zip.

And log file:  idealog-tail.log

I uploaded both files to your FTP.

Thanks. Created the https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/DBE-3189 issue about the exception and the https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/DBE-3190 about performance issue. They could be related though. Please follow the for further progress.

Please try to allocate more memory to IDEA process by settings larger value for `-Xmx` vm option: Help | Edit Custom VM Options action and see if it helps. Does it help?

Please attach all log folder zipped if slowness continues to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/DBE-3190 issue. Thanks.

MY xmx is already quite high... ??

I don't think issues are related because if I turn of code formatting for SQL the freezing is still there.
