PHPStorm Failed To Save Settings

Hello all,

  First time user of PHPStorm here. So I've configured my PHP installation, and my server settings, and I keep getting a "Failed to save settings. Please restart PHPStorm" error on startup. 

I'm not sure what information I should provide to help diagnose this problem. I'm running 64 bit Linux Mint 17 Qiana, and using XAMPP for my development.
