RubyMine debugging console not working

Since a few days the debugging console in RubyMine stopped working and I can't figure out why. The debugger stops at the correct position and shows all frames and variables correctly. But the console and the "evaluate expression"-tab aren't working anymore. When I access irb through the terminal everything works as expected.
