PyCharm 1.1 (OSX) Locking up on startup

I'm on OSX 10.6.  I installed the 1.1 upgrade, and now get a perpetual spinning beachball of death when I open up PyCharm.  I deleted the old version, as I typically do, and wasn't expecting 1.1 to hit a snag.

Any suggestions?  I'd rather not reset my settings if possible.

Unfortunately the logs don't give any clue about the problem. What happens if you run /Applications/PyCharm 1.1.app/Contents/MacOS/pycharm from the terminal?

Same outcome - it asks me some info about the settings, etc (which I don't remember resetting during upgrades, but I could easily be wrong) and then never seems to get to a point where it's responding.

No error output in terminal - just stuck.
