Permanently position tool windows at top instead of left

I have a 2-monitor setup, and run PyCharm in a 21" monitor turned vertically. It's great for easily reading and scrolling through code, but I find it annoying that the tool windows like 'Project' and 'Structure' always appear on the *left* of the window by default when a new project is opened. For now, I drag them to the top every time I have to open another project. Is there some way to get these windows to default to the top? I've scoured the preferences, but couldn't find anything. I'm running 1.1 on OS X
