Doesn't seem to support Mercurial via pip on OSX?

I'm trying to use Pycharm (107.40) on my OSX installation.

I'm using Homebrew for package management - however, as per Homebrew's recommendations, I've installed Mercurial via pip.

This puts a "hg.py" file in /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages/mercurial.

However, in Pycharm if I try to select this as my location for Mercurial, it complains that this isn't a valid Mercurial executable.

seems to complain about a similar thing under Windows. It was apparently fixed in 106.604, however, it still seems to be an issue in my copy of 107.40 on OSX.

Is this a separate issue, or is there some kind of workaround for this?
