The source code will be published in the JetBrains/intellij-community GitHub repo in a few days, stay tuned.

In the same repository of the intellij-community? Why? I think creating the separate repository (e.g. pycharm-community)will be more logical... IMHO

BTW Will it include own build procedure(scripts) or it use the same scripts which is already exists in intellij-community repository?

Thanks,
Vladimir

It's much more convenient to develop PyCharm in the context of the complete IntelliJ IDEA source code base; that's why we don't want to create a separate repository.

There will be a separate set of scripts to build a distribution of PyCharm Community Edition and the Python plugin for IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition.

Ok, thanks for the clear update.

Waiting when it will be appeared in the community repository...

It's going to take a few more days. We want to release a complete package of the code, including all relevant tests, and with the history fully preserved, and this is not as simple as moving a bunch of files to another directory.

I know this, since I have Build Manager position on current work.

Good luck!
And thanks a lot for yours products, especially for these which you open-sourced =)

Thanks a lot! Already got sources and I'm very happy. Thus I have some questions:

1. How I can build python plugin?
Which I need to use for this?
2. Unable to run python plugin with last sources in IDEA CE project (See thread http://forum.jetbrains.com/thread/PyCharm-1749)
3. Already prepared 2 pull requests for some small issues (#111 and #110)

Best Regards,
Vladimir
