and my version is 2016.2.5. However, my freind could not make the node_modules folder disappear, and i could not make the node_modules folder showing. We use the same version idea.
I realize this is an old thread but was hoping to find a resolution. I have the same issue. Don't have any Vue plugin and I a showing excluded files/folders. What's the resolution?
And I checked the "Show Exclude files"

Please share a screenshot illustrating the issue. Also, is Tree Appearance > Show Excluded Files enabled in Project view settings?
Please also make sure that
node_modulesis not listed in Settings | Editor | File Types, Ignored Files and Folders
