Connecting to SQL Server LocalDB

I'm trying to use DataGrip to connect to a LocalDB instance and am getting this message:

datagrip.png

The problem is that DataGrip is appending \sql\query to the named pipe path, when it should be appending \tsql\query. Is there any way to change this or is this a problem with DataGrip itself?

Hello! What connection url do you specify to connect to a LocalDB in General tab in Datasource settings? Could you please attach screenshot of it and your idea.log . Thanks.

There is no yet easy way to connect to a LocalDB SQL Server using pipes, please vote fore related request: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/DBE-103 . Please also check this answer on how you could set up the connection: https://devnet.jetbrains.com/message/5521276#5521276 with something like

JDBC URL: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://./[DBName];instance=LOCALDB#331AB26D;namedPipe=true

in JDBC URL.

Please use attached patched jtds driver version to connect. With this version it should be possible to connect with the named pipes. Soon we will make this driver to be downloaded by default for jtds datasource.
