Will IDEA 8.1 continue to get full and equal Scala support along with Maia / vers. 9 (at least throughout the Maia EAP stage)? At what point will we be forced to upgrade to version 9 to get the maximum functionality for Scala and to keep up with ongoing development of the Scala plug-in?
Differences for API between Diana and Maia not so critical as between Selena and Diana, so I think that it will be simple to update two branches of this plugin. And I think it will be until Maia release. So I think now you can upgrade to 9.0 just if you want to get new major IDEA features (not Scala plugin).
I do generally update, but I also tend to hang back and wait for feedback from other users and possibly for the first .0.m release to appear. Availability of funds to purchase the update is a factor, too, these days.
Hello.
This or next week (more probable that next), we'll do new branch and we'll upload plugin for Maia.
Best regards,
Alexander Podkalyuzin.
Sounds good! Thank you
