Can't upgrade to 6
I have 5.4 and cannot upgrade to 6. My license was purcashed in June of 2013. Yesterday morning, I receive an update notification and clicked 'learn more', then when I went back it says no updates available. I'd prefer not to reinstall and loose all my settings.

Well there is no special update from 5.4 to 6.0 you will still need to just install new version.
Usually it should not reset your settings (unless you install to the same location), e.g. on Windows we offer to uninstall old versions (but you can skip this)
and import settings from previous version.
