MacOS : displaying the menu bar in the app window

I need**1 to display the menu bar attached to the app window and not to the screen.

I tried setting
  apple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=false
in Info.plist/Java/Properties, to no avail.

I remember this trick used to work, years ago, on IDEA.

Is it possible at all?

**1 : when sharing just the app window (and not the full screen) with programs like screenhero, you cannot access the menu as it is not part of the application window.
