Indexing a Project Every Time.

RM goes through a scan and then reindexes a project completely every time I open a project, though I know absolutely nothing has changed.  This happens on both long-standing projects (on my machine) and brand new ones.  This only happens on my laptop, though, and not my work machine.

What's up with that?  I'm trying to sell a couple of workmates on RM, but kinda hard when you have to go get a coffee every time you open a project.

Thanks!

Hi Raymond,

To start with try "File | Invalidate caches...". If this will not help (it continue to re-index on every startup) then try completely deleting cache/index folder manually -- this helped in the past (not RubyMine but PhpStorm, but I see no difference between the products in this regard).

Where is the cache/index folder?  I don't see this in the '.idea' directory or anywhere immediately in the '.app' directory.

The 'Invalidate Cache' trick I thought I had already tried, but did again, and there is no change.

No other real ideas I'm afraid -- devs should know better what else may be wrong here.

Hi,

what OS, filesystem, and RM version are you using on the laptop and other work machine?

Regards, Oleg.

OSX 10.8.2 (but the issue has been the same for the last few updates)

Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
RM 4.5.4 (119.71), but has been the same for a few versions, anyhow.

I'm running the same of everything in both places, though the work machine was (left the job last week) a high-end Mac Pro.
