Colours for projects in rubymine

I'm sorry if this question has been answered before but googling and searching the forum I couldn't find the answer.

I have a project with several branches and I want to be able to switch between them.  So I have each branch checked out in a different directory. I open up redmine, open the first directory. Open a second directory, and when rubymine asks" New projects can either be opened in a new window or replace the project      in the existing window.
How would you like to open the project?"  I ask for a new window.  I now have two instances of rubymine running.  It would help enormously if i could colour them differently - I really don't care how - just some visual cue to let me know which branch I'm on.  I guess this is easy to do, but cannot see how.

many thanks

Hi chris,

Just an idea (as I'm not really a RubyMine user):

  • Settings | File Colors ( http://www.jetbrains.com/ruby/webhelp/file-colors.html ) -- create new entry In Local Files -- use "All" scope and choose some color
  • Make sure that "Enable Colors in Editor Tabs" is checked
  • If you go back to the editor now, you will see that all tabs have that background color (re-opening of tab may be required)

If you do the same but choose different color in 2nd project --  this may be enough to differentiate between such 2 similar projects
