Use external ruby and gems (windows host -> ubuntu guest)

I've successfully setup RubyMine to work with my linux guest. I have the project files, the database connected. Most of RubyMine tools are working, except functions relying on the ruby executable and gems. For that, the executable is found on my linux guest and I'm using RVM.

I've selected the ruby executable under ruby sdk > add sdk, but I get the error:

"the selected file is not a valid home for Ruby SDK".

I suspect this is due to the ruby executable not being a .exe file.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

RubyMine does not currently support this configuration. It needs to be able to run Ruby locally, and this is obviously not possible with a Linux binary on a Windows machine.

Hi, thanks.

Is this a planned feature or could this be achieved via a plugin?

No such plugin exists. As for future plans, this is not yet definitely decided.
