Regarding using a new RubyMine update ...

I just updated RubyMine from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3 by unzipping the .tgz on Linux. I edited the rubymine.sh and rubymine.vmoptions and started RM using rubymine.sh.

To my surprise, I had to reenter my license information and also, I couldn't reuse the ~/.RubyMine-3.2.2 folder which had all my customizations.
My question then is, what is the right procedure to upgrade from one update (minor) release to another? Having to do something like above is time consuming.
(I wish RM had the IDEA idea of update in place for minor releases).

Perhaps I am missing something simple.

Kedar

Hi Kedar,

Configs folder changed due to a bug in our RubyMine build scrips. Usually minor updates use the same settings. Here we cannot compare with IDEA because RubyMine release cycle is much faster and some times RubyMine minor updates may use next IDEA major platform update.

To my surprise ... I couldn't reuse the ~/.RubyMine-3.2.2 folder which had all my customizations.

Quit RubyMine and try to copy ~/.RubyMine-3.2.2 to ~/.RubyMine32. I assume it will work. Or you can copy only config files. Or try "RubyMine | File | Export Settings..", "RubyMine | File | Import Settings..".

Sorry for the inconvenience.
