Linux SDK on Windows

I have mapped linux SDK to Windows via shared filesystem. Is it possible to add such an SDK to RubyMine ? It allaway tells me, that the SDK is not valid.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Marek,

What are you trying to achieve by doing that? RubyMine needs to run binaries
from the configured SDK, and it won't be able to run Linux binaries under
Windows.

There are gems, I can not compile on windows ... this way I wanted to be able to use gems compiled on linux on windows machine.

They won't work. Windows cannot run Linux binaries.

Yep, I know that. When coding rails, I have it started on Linux machine and it's running there. The filesystem is shared with windows where I have RubyMine.

For that project I have SDK set to windows one, to have at least some completition. Having possibility to set it to Linux one, I would loose ability to run commands, however I would have all gems indexed.

I hope this is understandable.

Very cool feature would be to have remote SDK on server, when coding on local machine ...

Hello Marek,

Actually, given that at the moment RubyMine doesn't do any indexing of binary
modules, there's no benefit in having such a remote SDK setup. If you install
the same set of gems on the Windows machine, and simply copy over the Ruby
parts of the modules which have binary components, you'll have the same result.
