ide freezing

I have been using the 884 release on ubuntu 9.04 since it came out without any issues until this weekend. Now when I am using it, I am running into a situation where the IDE accepts no input from the keyboard or the mouse.  Looking at the running processes, I see that when this occurs, java consistently overs around 46% and is said to be in futex_wait state.

I blew away the ~/.RubyMine10/ folder in attempt to have a clean startup.  I have't to blow away my project directory to see if something got corrupted there.  Perhaps if I do a svn up from the command line versus within the IDE I am corrupting something?

java -version
java version "1.6.0_13"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_13-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 11.3-b02, mixed mode)

Hello Andy,

Thanks, I have filled an issue: http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEADEV-36581
Feel free to comment, vote and track progress of it.

I do not really thing this problem has something to do with RubyMIne setup and caches, it feels like it is RubyMine <-> Java Swing interaction probkem.

The Swing issue makes sense to me to a point.  Being that this issue has only recently started versus when I first started using 884 I feel like some other variable has changed.  Is there anything else I can try to do to minimize the issue?

Hello guys,

I've managed to reproduce such a freezing on my Ubuntu 9.04 box, going to investigate more on this problem.
The fisrt observation showed that this happens only using 64bit Sun JDK, 32bit Sun JDK works fine for me.
What Java and OS environment do you use?

Regards,
Oleg

Oleg,

32 bit Ubuntu 9.04
Sun 32bit

Now, the problem has not been as bad since I checked out a clean copy of the projectin that I have not had nearly as many freezes.  When it does occur, it usally takes several minutes for the IDE to return and the IDE needs to be in the foreground.

I attached an updated log file (which includes the original log contents).  There are several new types of exceptions in there...

thanks,
Andy
