Welcome to the new Plugin Repository
Hello everyone,
We've finally opened our long-promised new plugin repository site for beta
testing. The beta site is at:
http://beta.plugins.intellij.net/
You can use your existing ITN account to log in, or create an account on
the site. Feel free to browse around, and if you're a plugin developer, you
can claim ownership of your plugins.
You can report bugs or suggest new features in this thread.
Enjoy. :)

Seems that this is now implemented, but it has a bug:
clicking on "Top 10 ..." shows the list but not the "Top 1".
Karl
The new "Filter by IDEA" version combo is very useful,
but it does not work as expected.
E.g. the JFormDesigner plugins is shown when selecting Idea 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0.
And it is not show for Idea 5.1 and 6.0. Correct would be >= 5.0.
BTW when can we expect that the new site replaces the old one?
Any plans to sync changes from the old to the new site?
E.g. recently added/updated plugins or download counts.
Karl
Shouldn't the "Website" URL the plugin website instead of the vendor web site ?
I think it makes more sense for the plugin url to be shown, better yet, show the plugin url and the vendor url.
Hello Hugo,
Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by "plugin url". Isn't it already
shown in the address bar of your browser?
The website link is taken from the plugin.xml file for the submitted plugin.

You're showing the value of the url attribute of the vendor element
rather than the value of the url attribute of the idea-plugin element.
Most seem to use the latter for a plugin-specific page.

Yep, that is exactly what i was talking about.
Hi,
since the new plugin repository has replaced the old one, it is no longer possible to download some plugins (e.g. JFormDesigner, JUnitGenerator, LineMover) using the IntelliJ IDEA 5.1.1 plugin manager. It shows the "Download Plugin JFormDesigner" dialog and then a "Failed to download" dialog.
There is also a problem with the "since" version. E.g. IDEA 5.1.1 shows JProfiler 3.3 plugin in the plugin manager, but this plugin requires IDEA 6.0.
Karl
Hello Karl,
Both of these problems should be fixed now. Thanks for your report, and sorry
for the hassle!

Wooo looks nice.
From someone who used Intellij, went to Eclipse, then back to Intellij, I hope you guys make some good market penetration. Eclipse is bloatware for the most part, and it's just not as "useable" when the rubber meets the road and I have to get code cranked out.
Glad to see forward progress on the plugin front!
the d/l counters on the plugin detail pages differ quite a lot from the ones displayed within plugin manager - do they not get updated?
Hello Yann,
The most likely reason for the counter difference is that the plugin manager
sometimes displays cached data, not the most up-to-date data downloaded from
the server.

Actually the d/l counters all seem to have decreased massively after the transition to the new repository, e.g. Struts Plugin has dropped by about 500.

The download counts which were accumulated in the old repository while the
new and old one existed in parallel were not migrated to the new repository.

Please fix the category chooser select-box, I just uploaded a new version and the category was "Art" - "Struts" is not available (because of subcategory of J2EE ?)
is it possible edit the screenshots once they're posted? or add a comment to each screenshot?
5.1.1 (4192) displays/uses the vendor URL for the plugin homepage ?!
Hi Dmitry,
Probably reported already, but the recent changes field seems to be extracted
from the description section in the plugin xml.
Best,
Andrei
could someone from JB look at Struts Plugin V0.89d, it does not d/l via plugin manager, I re-uploaded it again and still it does not work
manual d/l via http://plugins.intellij.net/plugin/?action=download&id=1558 works though, so the file does not seem to be corrupted?
If I click "10 Top New or Updated", or "10 Top Downloads", or "10 Top Rated", I would expect to see the ten plugins listed on the front page to be the first 10 I see when I click the link, but that isn't the case.
Drilldown to "10 Top New or Updated" shows me a different set of plugins as the most New or Updated.
Drilldown to "10 Top Downloads" or "10 Top Rated" doesn't show the #1 plugin from those lists visible on the top page.
Good work on recategorizing the plugins. Is till think the Editor category still has too many plugins in it. Here is a suggestion to recategorize the remaining plugins further.
The problem with Editor category is that it is too general and ends up being a catch-all category. Maybe if you just change Editor to be "Text Editing", and only keep plugins related to text manipulation/editing. Some of the other plugins belong in "Code Editing" or the "UI" category because they make changes to the UI.

I'm having the same problem with the latest version of IDEA (5.1.2, build 4267) on the Mac, i.e.,
the "Failed to download" dialog.
In particular "Auto-Format Text", "Rearranger", "SimpleUML" and "TabReorder" wouldn't download whereas I was able to download "JFromDesigner" and "RegexPlugin".
Any advice?
Thanks,
Gary Nunes
The "Filter by IDEA" version combo still does not work correctly.
Also the "10 New or Updated" list at http://plugins.intellij.net/ sometimes shows only 9 (or 8) plugins.
IMO it would be also useful to show the update-date in the "10 New or Updated" list. Similar to download counts and rating in the other top 10 lists.
Karl
The "Filter by IDEA" version combo still does not work correctly. See above.
Also the "10 New or Updated" list at http://plugins.intellij.net/ sometimes shows less than 10 plugins. Currently it shows only 3 !
