GWT Studio plugin question

I use IDEA Release Candidate build 5734 to recreate the GWT demo program (GWTImageViewer). It worked just fine and that is great. However, I am not sure how to deploy it.

1) For some reason, I did not see either "tomcat" or "www" subdirectory in the project view.
That is somewhat unexpected, because the video demo clearly has both directories in the project view.

Is there a setting that I missed when I created the project initially? I found out that
in C:\Documents and settings\loginname\.IntelliJIdea60\system\gwt directory
there is subdirectory \GWTImageViewer.c4a066a1\compile\www

2) Is there a UI that can make it easy for me to deploy? You know, something that either lets me specify any external server or creates a war file for me?

Another question: I take it that the only way to get an update of GWT Studio is to download the IDEA 6.0 EAP with a higher build number? Yes?

Keep up the good work! I see that in your road map, visual designer is of low priority. If you have a bug parade system like SUN, I would cast my vote to raise the priority of GWT visual designer. I am sure GWT Studio plugin team must have noticed what VistaFei from Wirelexsoft can do. Combining the ease of coding that is the current strength of GWT Studio plugin and the GWT visual designer, IDEA 6.0 will rule/own the GWT IDE.

Hello rueyfarn,

The demo is slightly obsolete. If you want to deploy your GWT application
you should create it under source roots of a Web module.
IDEA will place a code generated by GWT compiler to your exploded directory
or war file (as specified in Settings | ]]> | "JavaEE build settings"
tab) during compilation of the Web module, so if you create appserver run
configuration and run it GWT application will be deployed to an application
server which is selected in run configuration.

Yes, the only way to get an update of GWT plugin is to download next EAP
build of IDEA 6.0.

You can post your suggestions at http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEA.
There is no issues about visual designer for GWT, but you can create such
issue and watch for progress on it.
