How to register a new Maven repository in a plugin?

I'd like to include a new Maven repository in IntelliJ when my plugin is installed, so that my FrameworkSupportProvider class will be able to download the JARs needed by the framework. How do I do that? I couldn't find anywhere (1) to register new Maven repositories in IntelliJ and (2) no API for doing so either, which means ibiblio.org is always used, while my JARs are not found there. Help!

Well you would probalbly need to add your new maven repository to the
pom.xml of the project using your plugin anyways, so I currently don't
see why you would need to add a maven repository to IntelliJ (which is
not possible afaik, as IntellIJ just reads the repos defined in pom.xml
and settings.xml). I don't know what kind of plugin you are working on
but for me it seems that tying your plugin to maven is not a good idea
anyways, as there might be a lot of people out there using ant/ivy or
just the IDE internal build. Could you elaborate a bit more on what
exactly your plugin does and what you want to achieve?

Best regards,
