Can not setup for plugin development. What am I doing wrong?

I am running osx 10.5 java 1.5.0_16 IDEA 7.04 and I am unable to setup a project for plug in development.

I have followed the instructions (the one I could find is for idea 5), however, when it comes to making the new jdk, the button for a custom jdk is just not there. Is this something that has changed in the 2 previous versions and not been updated in the doc? Or maybe I am missing a plug in I may be deleted? Is so which one?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I take it that I use a jdk with the IDEA jdk as the jdk for the module/project and import the dev kit as a library?

Make sure that the DevKit plugin is installed.

No, the IDEA jdk includes all necessary libraries automatically, so you don't
need any additional libraries.

I cant seem to find it in the internal plugin installer's list. I can see it in the devkit downloaded 37m package. But it seem to require itself (or the idea-jdk which i cant use yet) to compile it.

I think I am doing it wrong.

I downloaded the same version again and copied the devkit plugin out of the download copy into my plugin directory and now it works fine.

I rally have no idea how I managed to break it this bad :\
