sql query plugin...

Is there any way to use the sql query plugin as a standalone application? I do not have the oracle client on my machine and running IntelliJ and opening a dummy project just seems like too much work to do just to be able to interact with the db.

SQL-Query is a great plugin and can be a very handy application if it can be used standalone.

I would check out isql.sourceforge.net. The SQL Client there works with almost any db with a jdbc driver. I've used it with Oracle and it does a pretty good job.

there is also winsql which has an odbc and a jdbc version. It is free.

The plugin could be used as standalone application by starting the class com.kiwisoft.sqlPlugin.MainPanel but in this mode the connections and configuration
can't be saved. The IntelliJ libraries openapi.jar, xerces.jar and jdom.jar would have to be in the CLASSPATH.

Bye, Stefan.
