Nothing useful in these  logs:
$HOME/.IntelliJIdea12/

    system/log/idea.log
    system/compile-server/server.log

Going to need to downgrade, need the Python plugin.

Does Reformat Code not work specifically in Python files? If there are no exceptions in the logs, it's fairly unlikely that the Python plugin was broken by an IntelliJ IDEA update.

The plugin was disabled as soon as I upgraded and restarted. I went to uninstall to reinstall and it does not show in the plugin repo. so possibly some version check?
The reformat just didn't work period, no exceptions, just does nothing whatever the filetype. I was originally trying it in a Java file.

I can report the same issue on 126.232:

The Python plugin was disabled as soon as I upgraded.

I received the following error:

Unknown Module Type
Cannot determine module type ("PYTHON_MODULE") for the following module:"myapp"
The module will be treated as a Unknown module.

In "Settings -> Plugins" the Python plugin is shown in red with the tooltip "Plugin in incompatible with current IntelliJ IDEA installation"

I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the Python plugin anyway but this did not make any difference to the above behaviour.

I confirm python plugin incompatibility with 126.232 issue.
REinstalling plugin is impossible - after deinstalling plugin highlited in red in plugin browser and describe himself as 'incompatible'.
So only rollback to previous version of IDEA helps.
