I cannot update from IntelliJ anymore since 12
I cannot update from within IDEA when I do a check for updates on MacOSX since I have started using version 12.
It now always asks me to download the new EAP.
Is this me or are others having the same issue?

Do you mean that the update functionality does not install new updates or that it always shows early access builds that can be installed? If it is the former: file bug here: http://youtrack.jetbrains.net. If it is the latter: go to your IDE preferences and type "Updates" into the search field. Make sure that "Check for updates in channel" is checked and that "New Major Version Releases" is selected in the dropdown.
Hope that helps.
When I click check for updates, it tells me that there are updates available (EAP) but doesnt install them, just gives me a link to download from.
There was another bug that I have already reported that prevented the IntelliJ menu being populated with some options (Preferences, Check for Updates) but this was caused by the Vaadin plugin. So, perhaps, this is also a sympton of that plugin. Will check again when the next EAP becomes available.
The incremental update only works from one version to the next version. It doesn't work if there are multiple versions inbetween. In that case you'll have to download the full installation package.
Hope that helps.
Yes - that makes some sense but I was trying to update from one EAP to the next one.
There is intentionally no patches for Mac version
