Weblogic server in clustering

Hi,

I cannot understand why  we should choose a managed server in the configuration of oracle weblogic server in clustering mode.
While in Oracle's definition, multiple application components are "clustered" by deploying them on multiple server instances in the cluster. So we should choose the cluster and not a particular server. O.O'?
